Mental Health Services

Ageless Counseling offers a wide range of personalized mental health services. Each client at Ageless Counseling receives treatment from an understanding, compassionate mental health professional. Ageless Counseling has developed an approach to counseling that draws on an individual’s personal strengths and a goal with each client is to find “fuel for their soul” in hopes to help them move forward. Each person’s life story is unique and witnessing their personal journey towards healing is a privilege. Below is a list of some of the typical mental health issues we deal with on a daily basis with our clients. We typically provide in home counseling as well as telehealth appointments.

Ageing & Dementia

Dementia is not a normal part of aging. It is a progressive disease that causes cognitive function to break down abnormally, causing cognitive and physical symptoms that worsen over time. As we age, our cognitive abilities decline gradually, but dementias are a fork off that path. At Ageless counseling we deal with both the natural ageing process and the changes that arise with that journey as well as caregivers.

Grief, Trauma & PTSD

PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) and grief are related but distinct experiences. While both can occur as a response to trauma and loss, they have different characteristics and implications for mental health. Grief is a natural and normal reaction to loss, involving a range of emotions such as sadness, anger, and longing. PTSD, on the other hand, is a mental health condition that can develop after exposure to a traumatic event.

Sexual Abuse & Women's Issues

Violence against women – particularly intimate partner violence and sexual violence – is a major public health problem and a violation of women's human rights. At Ageless Counseling we approach this topic with both compassion and understanding to help cope with such serious issues of trauma.

Anxiety, Stress & Depression

Stress is an event that you view as out of your control, and it typically occurs outside your daily routines. When people struggle to cope with stressful situations, depression and anxiety become more noticeable. While excessive stress is the reason for anxiety and depression, it typically disappears when the relevant stressors disappear.

Life Transition & Self Esteem

In late adulthood, life events tend to involve an excess of losses over gains in social roles, which might contribute to the drop in self-esteem. Self-esteem is your subjective sense of overall personal worth or value. Similar to self-respect, it describes your level of confidence in your abilities and attributes. With major life transitions and significant changes it can be overwhelming, requiring effective coping strategies. At Ageless Counseling, we take a personalized approach to both aspects of life and find effective coping strategies that fit.

ADHD, Bipolar & OCD

Psychiatric disorders like ADHD, OCD, and bipolar disorder likely share important similarities at a molecular level. Living with any one of these can cause daily life to be extremely difficult at times. While they all have different symptoms and degrees of severity, at Ageless Counseling we can be a helpful resource through multiple types of therapy that we offer as treatments.
